Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:

* While Indiana's Richard Mourdock (R) argued this morning that "God does not want rape" -- when you have to put this in print, you have a problem -- the American Bridge super PAC has a new video on the controversy.

* In Ohio, a new SurveyUSA poll shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney by three, 47% to 44%.

* In Virginia, an Old Dominion University poll shows Obama with a seven-point advantage over Romney, 50% to 43%, though by all accounts, this poll is an outlier.

* In Massachusetts' closely watched U.S. Senate race, a new WBUR poll shows Elizabeth Warren (D) leading Sen. Scott Brown (R) by five, 48% to 43%.

* On a related note, Brown is now trying to argue that it doesn't matter which party has a majority in the Senate. (I can think of 99 other senators who disagree.)

* In Nevada, one of Gov. Brian Sandoval's (R) top political advisers believes Obama will probably carry the state this year by a margin of one-to-three points.

* In Connecticut's competitive Senate race, Quinnipiac now has Rep. Chris Murphy (D) leading Linda McMahon (R), 49% to 43%.

* And in Wisconsin, Republican Tommy Thompson is using imagery of rubble from the 9/11 attacks to attack his Democratic rival, Tammy Baldwin. Though partisan use of these images was, for a while, considered off-limits, Thompson is running the ad anyway. At issue Baldwin's vote against a resolution commemorating 9/11, which Republicans deliberately tied to a resolution praising the PATRIOT Act, in the hopes that some Dems would balk and it'd be used in attack ads.
