A Mexican television network aired video of the government siege that ended with the capture of drug lord Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán.
The video, which appears to be taken from a body camera of a Mexican marine participating in the assault, provides a firsthand view of the shootout with Guzmán associates in the kingpin's safe house in his home state of Sinaloa.
Guzmán was arrested following a chase from the house, ending his six months on the run after tunneling from a maximum-security prison in July.
The video of the predawn raid appears to have been provided by the Mexico government to Televisa. The report includes a Televisa reporter interviewing one of the marines involved in the raid as they tour the wrecked safe house. NBC News has not authenticated the video.
The video shows marines armed with high-powered rifles move through the home, blasting through walls and throwing grenades, arresting people and tearing apart fixtures in search of weapons and evidence. They also appear to tend to a wounded soldier.
Televisa reported that when he was caught, Guzman said, "My holidays are over."
In addition to a cache of weapons, the government forces found ordinary but revealing household items, including DVDs of the popular telenova "La Reina Del Sur," starring Kate del Castillo.

Del Castillo, one of the country's best-known actors, has been connected with Guzmán through the kingpin's purported attempts to film a biographical film about himself. She also reportedly helped actor Sean Penn conduct an interview of Guzmán in October, an account detailed in an article in Rolling Stone published Saturday.
