LONDON - British television personality Rolf Harris was found guilty Monday of sexually assaulting four girls over nearly 20 years, becoming the latest U.K. media figure to be convicted in a slew of scandals involving historic sex offences, The 84-year-old Australian-born artist and children's television host - who once painted an official portrait of Queen Elizabeth - had denied all 12 counts of indecent assault. Some of Harris' victims were as young as seven or eight. He will be sentenced on Friday.

In 2012, allegations that late TV host Jimmy Savile had abused hundreds of people over a period of decades prompted sex allegations against other British household names. In April, Britain's so-called "King of Spin" Max Clifford was convicted of eight counts of indecent assault. Dave Lee Travis, one of the country's best-known radio DJs, was cleared in February of a string of indecent assault charges dating back to the 1970s but was charged with another in April.
