Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:

* President Obama and the DNC raised about $60 million in May, which looked quite impressive until we learned that Mitt Romney and the RNC raised $76.8 million in May.

* The Obama campaign released a new ad this morning, which will air in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. It stresses Obama's jobs plan, which the Romney campaign likes to pretend doesn't exist, and which congressional Republicans still refuse to consider.

* In Virginia, a new Quinnipiac poll shows Obama leading Romney by five, 47% to 42%.

* In an interview with CBS yesterday, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) said "under no circumstances" would he agree to run as his party's vice presidential nominee in 2012.

* In a statement last night, Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) finally acknowledged in an email to supporters that he won't be the Republicans' presidential nominee this year. He still intends to grow his "movement," though.

* In New Mexico, coalition of environmental groups is poised to spend nearly a million dollars in the U.S. Senate race, hoping to propel Rep. Martin Heinrich (D) over former Rep. Heather Wilson (R).

* And still hoping to take back the House, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee this week reserved $19 million in airtime in 24 competitive U.S. House districts.
