If you've ever wondered how the Maddow staff might spend its time waiting for the afternoon news meeting in the midst of an oncoming hurricane, this afternoon we learned the answer! Mike Yarvitz and Julia Nutter just tried measuring wind speed out the window using an iPhone app.

Update: Earlier tonight, we tested out the Wind Meter app once again. Turns out, it doesn't read gusts very well.
