This morning former Senator Arlen Specter, Pa., joined us to discuss his new book, recent criticisms of him by Rick Santorum, and his thoughts on the GOP moving to the right.
During the conversation, Mika Brzezinski asked Specter what he thought about what was happening to the party's message.
"What is your forecast for the Republican Party? What do you think is happening?," Mika asked.
"The Republican Party has moved so far to the right you can’t recognize Mitt Romney...Bill [Maher] had it exactly right; he said that Mitt Romney has changed positions more often than a pornographic movie queen," Specter replied.
What do you make of Specter's referencing Bill Maher in assessing Romney's positions? Too intense or pretty accurate?
