Siri will say and do all kinds of things, but among the latest of her powers: Siri can start your car's engine. And stop it.

Brandon Fiquett

Self-described "tech enthusiast," developer and engineer Brandon Fiquett came up with a way to do that on his Acura TL, sharing the info on YouTube, as well as his blog. Fiquett already uses a Viper SmartStart program on his iPhone, but came up with a hack that lets Siri actually start the car using voice commands.

"The command is sent from Siri to a Viper server, then relayed via cellular connection to the car. The car then broadcasts an update via RF to the key chain remote," he wrote on the YouTube page with the video posting. "It can arm/disarm as well."

Indeed, it does disarm — in more ways than one.
