Last week on the show, we highlighted Philadelphia for pro-actively telling voters they do not need to have ID in order to vote. That has been the case since a judge put the law on hold, back on October 2. Even so, some local governments have been slow to change their websites. Philadelphia was ahead of the game, and trying.
Today, Jess Gulash tweeted us a photo from Philadelphia City Hall of poster reading, "You must have valid photo ID to vote on Nov. 6." Since it is outside the office where people register to vote, the poster has a helpful handwritten addition: "Ask Us -->"
We reached Philadelphia City Commissioner Stephanie Singer, who said, "I think that may still be up there, and it needs to come down." She walked away for a minute, then returned and said the poster had been removed. She thanked us for calling. (I've been thinking that all thismisinformation about voting in Pennsylvania is like when you open a bottle of glitter -- you can never get rid of every last bit.)
