Context: Kathie Lee and Hoda were chatting idly about "nomophobia," or fear of being away from the phone, when KLG offered a helpful tip. There is no worse scenario for the nomophobiac than dropping one's mobile device in the toilet, but as she pointed out, putting a wet phone in a bowl of dry rice can save it from total destruction.
Of course, you have to act fast, so the best thing to do is have the rice extremely close by. Like, on the actual toilet. Hoda was incredulous, but you can probably just throw some roses in there and call it decorative.
