So we meet again Mitt Memes...
It’s been less than a week, and Mitt Memesanity is back stronger than ever. I bring to you:
The Etch-A-Sketch Mitt: The Meme that just keeps on Memeing!
By now, we all know the story. After Mitt’s aide, Eric Fehrnstrom, made the unfortunate comparison of Mitt’s campaign to an Etch-A-Sketch, all “Etch-A-Mitt” Memedom broke loose.
But now the question is, who memed it best?
Let’s start with the Democrats. The Etch-A-Sketch comment was Internet gold for the Dems. Their biggest push? #ROMNEYTOYS.
#Romneytoys went viral, generating a few of my fav Etch-A-Mitt posts of the day –
But the Dems weren’t finished… The DNC jumped onboard the etch-a-sketch band wagon, and quickly put together a new campaign video against Mitt's Shake Up.
Sensing the chance to make a break in the Republican race, Santorum eagerly entered the Etch-A-Mitt Smackdown.
Rick Santorum’s spokesman, Matt Beynon, tweeted out this photo:
Oh Santorum, making jokes.
But the fun didn’t stop there. Alice Stewart, a spokeswoman for Santorum, handed out mini Etch-A-Sketches to reporters outside a rally for Romney. Gotta love the political humor.
And lest we forget that he's still in the race… Newt threw his large hat into the Etch-A-Mitt Ring.
Latching onto #RomneyToys, Newt used twitter to push his own conservative agenda.
A little too serious to make me chuckle… but I must give Newt credit for his Facebook strategy. Take a peep –
So who is the winner of the Mitt Memesanity Smackdown? Well my friends, in the end – we are the winners.
Well, us and the actual Etch-A-Sketch who is experiencing a 1556% jump in sales. Not bad for a days work.
My parting gift to you: Head on over to Etchasketchmittromney.com and play with your very own Etch-A-Mitt! You’re welcome.
Who do you think has taken the lead in the ongoing Etch-A-Mitt Memesanity?
