It looks like Mitt Romney didn't get a bounce coming out of the last week's Republican National Convention.
Party nominees usually receive a boost in the polls after national political conventions. But Gallup says its seven-day average has been at 47% for Obama and 46% for Romney for the last five days.
"We have been monitoring the potential impact of the Republican convention on the presidential race on a day-by-day basis," writes Gallup's editor-in-chief Frank Newport. "So far, we don't see an impact."
Maybe it was because Romney's acceptance speech didn't seem to excite voters very much.
Another Gallup poll shows that 38% of national adults rated Romney's convention speech as either excellent or good. That's the lowest percentage since Gallup began tracking this question in 1996!

The Gallup poll also found that 40% of national adults said the GOP's convention made them more likely to vote for Romney, while 38% said it made them less likely.
