BUENA PARK, Calif. -- Police shot through a Buena Park bank's glass doors Thursday afternoon, effectively ending an hours-long hostage situation.
The suspect was hit, but police did not know the extent of his injuries. A group of SWAT officers continued to stake out the bank, guns drawn.
NBC 4 reporters on the ground witnessed a woman coming out of the bank at 4542 Beach Blvd. around 3 p.m.
A man with a gun was believed to have held a manager hostage inside the Saehan Bank.

Authorities received a call just after 11 a.m. from someone inside the bank, saying there was a possible robbery, police said.
A man with a gun walked in and ordered employees out of the bank -- except the female manager, police said.
Nearby businesses, many of which are Korean-oriented, were evacuated, and streets were closed for a half mile around the bank.
A large contingent of SWAT officers, some with police dogs, converged on the scene.
A child care center across the street was evacuated.

Police brought in a Korean translator for when they make contact with the gunman.
“Time is on our side,” said Cpl. Andy Luong, of the Buena Park Police Department.
Residents were ordered to stay in their homes.
