Bloomberg/Business Week dives into the economic recovery, whether President Obama is lucky or good and that he confounds economists and policy advisers because of his pragmatism and lack of a clear economic philosophy. “Unlike Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush, Obama isn’t identified with a clear economic philosophy,” it writes. “During his presidency, he’s advocated spending more money to create jobs, cutting the deficit, and investing for the long term—sometimes all at once.”
“Some, but not all, House Democrats who are facing challenging primaries say they plan to seek President Obama’s endorsement,” The Hill writes. “But just because lawmakers ask for the White House’s backing doesn’t mean they are going to get it. A Democratic source familiar with the situation said that the ‘president has been very selective and has not engaged in every race.’”

“President Obama is a man of many talents, and apparently American Sign Language is one of them,” The New York Daily News writes. “The commander-in-chief wowed a deaf, Washington-area college student and those around him during a brief exchange in sign language Tuesday in Largo, Md. The video, which has won huge popularity on the Internet, shows 26-year-old Stephon — his last name has not been identified — signing to the President, ‘I’m proud of you,’ at an energy policy event.” (Here’s the video.)
“The Marine Corps on Wednesday notified a sergeant who has been openly critical of President Barack Obama that he is violating Pentagon policy barring troops from political activities and that he faces dismissal,” AP reports. “Camp Pendleton Marine Sgt. Gary Stein started a Facebook page called Armed Forces Tea Party to encourage fellow service members to exercise their free speech rights. He declared a few weeks ago that he would not follow the unlawful orders of the commander in chief. Stein also criticized Defense Secretary Leon Panetta for his comments on Syria. Stein, a nine-year member of the Corps, said he did nothing wrong and planned to fight the charges.”
