The April issue of ELLE magazine features a three-page spread on MSNBC’s freshest new face, “NOW” host Alex Wagner. The article, titled “Politicool,” focuses on Alex’s career path – from editing a major magazine to working for a non-profit, and finally landing her most recent gig at MSNBC.
In regard to the mission of her show (which airs at noon weekdays on MSNBC), Wagner told ELLE, “My goal is to show the intermingling between politics and pop culture…Kim’s Kardashian’s excuse about why she got her divorce is, for better or worse, just as interesting and relevant as Herman Cain’s withdrawal from the [presidential] race.”
New York Magazine writer and MSNBC Political Analyst John Heilemann weighed in on the show as well, saying, “What’s refreshing about Alex, is that she is seriously interested in the substance of politics, yet she makes no attempt to pretend to know stuff she doesn’t.”
Don’t miss “Now with Alex Wagner” weekdays at 12pm ET on MSNBC.
