Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev was discharged from hospital on Friday after being examined for an unspecified illness, his foundation's spokesman said. The 83-year-old was checked out by doctors on Thursday "after feeling unwell," Gorbachev Foundation Spokesman Pavel Palazhchenko told NBC News. "This is a normal thing of a man of his age, the rest is between him and the doctor." Gorbachev was back at his Moscow office and planned to resume his normal schedule, Palazhchenko added. On Thursday, Gorbachev told Russian state media: "My condition in the last seven days was tolerable, but today I am in the hospital. I have a disease recurrence. I'm monitored, wires all over me."
