A 29-year-old man will appear in a British court Monday after he was charged with attempted murder in a knife attack in a London subway station, police said.
Police said they are treating the attack on Saturday as a terrorist incident.
The man, identified as Muhaydin Mire of Leytonstone in east London, was stunned with a Taser and arrested after he allegedly stabbed at least two people at Leytonstone Underground Station.
None of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, but one was initially reported in serious condition.
Commander Richard Walton, head of the Metropolitan Police counterterrorism task force, said in a statement Sunday that London remains under a "severe" terrorism threat and more attacks are "highly likely."
While the suspect was being arrested, a bystander shouted, "You ain't no Muslim, bruv," according to video of the incident that quickly went viral, spawning a Twitter hashtag that became a worldwide icon for preaching peace.
