Do you ever think twice about driving a car? Or even going for a walk? For the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the United States, these routine activities are a huge source of anxiety. Why? Because getting pulled over by a traffic cop can lead to more than a speeding ticket. It can result in deportation.

A new report by the Center for American Progress says anti-illegal immigration laws have created an underground class of people that won’t report crimes to the police, take their kids to school or even their leave homes.

The Center surveyed undocumented immigrants living under the strict immigration laws of San Diego’s North County and found:
