A Los Angeles judge on Monday revoked probation for singer Chris Brown in his 2009 conviction for his assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna.

The county's district attorney claims that Brown violated probation in an alleged hit-and-run incident that occurred in May. The singer has denied any wrongdoing in the car accident and tweeted Monday, "I did everything I was supposed to do during the so called hit n run, I provided the correct info. There were no injuries or damages. C'mon!!"

After the judge's ruling, Brown tweeted, "My cross is heavy but God gives me the strength to carry it."

The R&B star is accused of rear-ending a woman's car at a red light. The district attorney's investigators report notes that the two drivers pulled over to the side of the road to exchange information, but when the woman requested his license and insurance, he did not produce the documents.

Judge James R. Brandlin allowed Brown to remain free on his own recognizance pending the outcome of the probation violation hearing, which will be held on Aug. 16.

The singer pleaded guilty to a count of felony assault on the "Umbrella" singer after he beat her as they headed to the 2009 Grammy Awards. He was sentenced to five years probation and six months of community service.
