Fox News' Sean Hannity still doesn’t believe any Americans go to bed hungry. And today he used the weak "my comments taken out of context" defense to deflect widespread criticism (listen by clicking the embedded video to the immediate right).
On Monday, Hannity suggested that working families can simply survive off of rice and beans:
“I don't believe people are going to bed hungry. ... For, instance I have friends of mine who eat rice and beans all the time. Beans protein, rice. Inexpensive. You can make a big pot of this for a week for negligible amounts of money and you can feed your whole family.
Look, you should have vegetables and fruit in there as well, but if you need to survive you can survive off it. It's not ideal but you could get some cheap meat and throw in there as well for protein. There are ways to live really, really cheaply.”
Ed slammed those comments on last night's The Ed Show on MSNBC, saying it proves Hannity is the "most out of touch person in America."
"I want Sean Hannity to look those (16.2 million) kids (who live in food-insecure households) in the eyes and tell them they aren't hungry,” Ed said. "Or go to a soup kitchen and tell those people to go buy a bag of rice and a can of beans."

Oh by the way Sean, we're still waiting for you to produce the tape that proves President Obama wouldn't have killed Osama bin Laden if he had his way.
The one-year anniversary of Obama's killing of bin Laden (thanks to a daring Navy SEAL raid) is coming up next week (on May 1). That'd be a really great time to produce that tape!
