Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* Hoping to take advantage of this week's opportunity, the DSCC is investing another $1.1 million in a new ad hitting Richard Mourdock in Indiana over his controversial rape comments. (The NRSC, meanwhile, continues to stand by Mourdock.)
* The Romney/RNC fundraising efforts are clearly outpacing the Obama/DNC efforts so far in October. On a related note, Mitt Romney's super PAC has picked up another $10 million check from Sheldon Adelson.
* In Nevada, the latest NBC/WSJ/Marist poll shows President Obama with a three-point lead over Romney, 50% to 47%.
* In Colorado, the same NBC/WSJ/Marist poll shows Obama and Romney tied with 48% each.
* In Virginia, a Fox News poll shows Romney ahead by two points, 47% to 45%.
* In Wisconsin, Public Policy Polling found Obama leading Romney by six, 51% to 45%.
* In Iowa, PPP found Obama up by only two, 49% to 47%.
* In North Carolina, PPP has Obama and Romney tied at 48% each.
* In Nevada, the NBC/WSJ/Marist poll shows Sen. Dean Heller (R) leading Rep. Shelly Berkley (D) by three, 48% to 45%.
* And in a provocative spot in Arizona, Democratic Senate hopeful Richard Carmona is featuring praise from Republican Sens. John McCain and Jon Kyl his confirmation hearing for Surgeon General during the Bush administration.
