Mexican authorities are investigating after hundreds of thousands of fish died of unknown causes. Fish weighing nearly 50 tons have been found floating in Lake Cajititlan in less than a week, the European Pressphoto Agency reports.
Effluent from local wastewater treatment plants could have caused the fish to die, Jalisco state's secretary for the environment told the BBC.
