The Republican war on women is expanding to utterly ridiculous levels in Arizona.

The state's Senate Judiciary Committee voted 6-2 Monday for a bill that would allow Arizona employers the right to deny health insurance coverage for contraceptives based on religious objections.

Arizona House Bill 2625, authored by Majority Whip Debbie Lesko (R-Glendale), would allow your boss to ask for proof that you're seeking contraceptives for non-sexual, non-reproductive purposes, such as hormone control or acne treatment.

The bill is patterned after the Blunt Amendment that failed to pass through the U.S. Congress. Except this goes beyond religiously affiliated employers like Catholic hospitals and universities to secular, for-profit employers.

And because Arizona is an "at-will" employment state, some are saying this amounts to a bill giving employers license to fire their employees for using birth control and/or for refusing to disclose the reasons for using birth control.
