Concert pianist and composer Marc-Andre Hamelin was inspired to write a waltz based on the Nokia melody after the ringtone became inescapable. Hamelin said that his own musical performances have been interrupted by a ringtone or two, inspiring him to turn the annoyance into a masterpiece.
