All the musicians are doing it. So why not the Black Eyed Peas?
Last week it was Sir-Mix-A-Lot who launched his own Facebook game. This week it's the BEP who've announced that they have a dance video game in the works.
Yes, will.i.am and crew are bringing their music and their dance moves to the Xbox 360 and to the Wii. Check out their announcement trailer below:
Ubisoft will be publishing the game and has said this is the second installment in its new "Experience" franchise — the first game being "Michael Jackson: The Experience," which launched last fall.
According to a press release, the game's dance routines are being arranged by the group’s famed creative director and choreographer, Fatima Robinson.
For the Xboxversion of "The BEP Experience," players will control their on-screen avatars with the Kinect sensor while they follow moves delivered by avatars of Fergie, Taboo and will.i.am. The Wii version of the game will play more like the "Just Dance" games with players swinging a Wii Remote as they follow the the band on screen.
Ubisoft has not announced a release date but has said the game is "coming soon." Here's betting it's going to face some stiff competition from "Dance Central 2" — the forthcoming sequel to the dance game that has dominated all other dance games (at least on the Xbox 360).
But mostly we're just happy to see that the Black Eyed Peas' avatars in these "Experience" games don't look quite as creepy at as Michael Jackson's glowing faceless avatar did in "Michael Jackson: The Experience." Shudder.
