LONDON — Seven years after homemade bombs were found in Iraq, British counterterrorism officials late Wednesday accused a Londoner of conspiring to murder coalition troops. Anis Abid Sardar, 37, was charged in connection with a number of improvised explosive devices that were recovered in Iraq's Anbar province in November 2007. He was arrested Tuesday in a raid at his home in the Wembley area of northwest London. He is also charged with conspiring to cause an explosion with intent to endanger life or property, along with a man called Sajjad Nabil Salih Al S Adnan. Sardar was due to appear in court later Thursday. No more information was given on Adnan.
