Andrea Mitchell, NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent and host of "Andrea Mitchell Reports" on MSNBC will host a one-hour panel discussion on education reform at American University on Friday. The panel will consist of prominent political and educational figures from several major U.S. cities including Chicago, New York and Los Angeles - these school districts combined serve 2.5 million students (the LA Times reports).
Representing New York will be Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Public Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott; From Chicago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Chicago Schools Chief Jean-Claude Brizard; from Los Angeles, Mayor Antonio Villaraigoa and Superintendent John Deasy. U.S. Secy. of Education Arne Duncan will join the panel as well.
