Before Amy Poehler was a star on Saturday Night Live and Parks and Recreation, she and a group of comedians founded the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre

In 1996, Poehler along with comedians Matt Besser, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh created the troop to bring the improv style the "Harold" from Chicago to New York. The theatre is dedicated to fostering both an appreciation and education of the arts through affordable and high quality comedic performances and classes. Poehler returned to the improv stage for a special performance.
