Ohio authorities were investigating what caused a train vs. car collision southwest of Cleveland Thursday evening that left two men dead.

Jawad Al-Nimer, 57, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on a state highway near Grafton around 5 p.m., when his car was struck by a westbound CSX train and then struck again by a second train traveling in the opposite direction, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Al Nimer and a passenger, Mufideh Al-Nimer, 78, both from Lorain, Ohio, were ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries were reported by anyone on either train.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, police said.
