Two sisters and a 2-year-old child were found dead Saturday night at a Jackson, Mississippi, home, according to police.

Officers responded to a call around 10:10 p.m. reporting an aggravated assault in the 300 block of Queen Alexandria Lane, Police Chief RaShall Brackney said at a news briefing.

“We have three — a triple homicide here, two young women in their 20s and a toddler,” Brackney said, adding that all three victims “suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.”

The victims were identified as 26-year-old Keyana Weathersby and 30-year-old Erica Weathersby, who are sisters, and 2-year-old Cameri Givens who is Keyana Weathersby’s son, police said.

Two suspects, Cornelius Carter and Jordan Carter, both 28, were arrested on Monday after attempting to evade police while in a car believed to be connected to the crime, police said in an update Tuesday. The two men are not related, police said.

Both men were charged with capital murder. Cornelius Carter was also charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, police said.

They appeared in court Tuesday morning and were denied bond, according to police. It is not clear if they have attorneys at this time.

Police were searching for a red 2020 Mitsubishi Mirage that police said belonged to one of the victims and was taken during the incident. The car was located Sunday in Manhattan Park in North Jackson and is being processed for evidence, the department said. It was unoccupied when it was found.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jackson Police Department.
