"This is an unspeakable tragedy and a loss that is felt by the entire university community," A&M-Commerce President Dr. Dan Jones said in a statement. "It is made more grievous by the dreams that will not be fulfilled.”

The two-vehicle accident occurred on Loop 286 in Paris, the university said. A dispatcher at the Paris Police Department said late Tuesday that no information on the victims or the vehicles involved was available.

The university said two of the women were pronounced dead at Paris Regional Medical Center, and two others were in critical condition.

The university is the second largest in the Texas A&M system, with more than 12,000 students.
