Nearly two months after a respected law professor was shot dead in Tallahassee, Fla., a reward for information leading to an arrest in the killing has jumped from $10,000 to $25,000, said Big Bend Crime Stoppers, which is offering the reward, in a statement. A neighbor found the Florida State University law professor, Daniel Markel, on July 18; he was in his car, and his garage door was open. The driver's side window had been smashed, and Markel, who was still alive at the time, had been shot in the head.

Police have made no arrests in the murder of Markel, 41, a divorced father of two who specialized in criminal law and had worked at the university since 2005. Markel was also a founder of the website PrawfsBlawg. This is third time that Big Bend Crime Stoppers has increased the reward. Tips can be reported to 1-888-876-8477.
