Police in Westminster, Colo., have released new photos and a video of Jessica Ridgeway, the 10-year-old girl who went missing from her Colorado home last Friday, to help people better identify her as they continue their search.

Westminster Police Investigator Trevor Materasso asked the community to remember the little girl's face.

"We really want people to focus on Jessica's facial features," Materasso said at a press conference Tuesday. "Two things of note that you will see - particularly in the video - she has a gap between her two front teeth, when you see that video, it's fairly obvious and a distinguishing characteristic. As well, she's got a sore at the top of her nose just below where her glasses sit. That sore doesn't heal, so it's a good indicator if you see someone you think is Jessica those two things are good to pay particular attention to."

In the 96 hours since her family last saw her, police and rescue crews have scoured areas near her home and also bolstered their presence at local schools to provide comfort and security to students, staff and parents, Materasso said.

Police said overnight they may have found some possible clues but would not elaborate on what those specific items were, NBC affiliate KUSA reported. So far, the biggest lead yet in the case has been the discovery of what police believe to be Jessica's backpack and water bottle found Sunday in Superior, Colo., about 6 1/2 miles northwest of Jessica's home.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigations is testing the backpack for any evidence.

Jessica was last seen on Friday morning by her mother when she left to walk three blocks from her home in Westminster to meet friends for the walk to school. She took the same route every day.

The friends told school officials that Jessica never showed up. They tried calling Jessica’s mother, but she reportedly slept through calls after working a night shift.

Jessica weighs 80 pounds and is 4-feet-10 with blue eyes and blond shoulder-length hair.

Police say they are treating this as an abduction case. But police and rescue crews have been searching ponds and reservoirs in the area and have focused their primary search around Jessica's neighborhood. At the press conference, Materasso said 400 homes will be searched in Jessica's neighborhood. He said authorities are halfway done with their search of the homes.

Community members have planned two vigils on Tuesday evening, one in her Westminster home and the other in Superior, where her backpack was found. Attendees are asked to wear purple or green ribbons.
