Lawyers for Bobbi Kristina Brown's boyfriend, Nick Gordon, responded Tuesday to the recent disclosure of her autopsy report, claiming Gordon "tried to save Bobbi Kristina's life."
"Nick Gordon's life has been tumultuous since January of 2015 when he lost the love of his life," Gordon's attorneys, Jose Baez and Joe Habachy, said in a statement.
"On top of being prohibited from visiting Bobbi Kristina at the hospital for the last six months of her life, Nick has been publicly humiliated for more than a year. And throughout that time, the Fulton County District Attorney's office has tried to make Nick a murderer despite having clear and convincing evidence that Bobbi Kristina's death was nothing more than a tragic accident."
The Fulton County District Attorney's Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from NBC News.
An autopsy released Friday revealed that Brown, who was found unresponsive in a bathtub of her suburban Atlanta home last year and passed away six months later, died as a result of being immersed in water and drug intoxication.
But the medical examiner did not determine a cause of death, leaving open the possibility of suicide or homicide. A criminal investigation into Brown's death continues.
Brown died at the age of 22 in a manner eerily similar to that of her mother, pop icon Whitney Houston, who was found dead in 2012 at the age of 48.
The conservator of Brown's estate claims Gordon drugged Brown with a "toxic cocktail" and drowned her in a tub of cold water, according to an amended civil lawsuit filed in August.
Gordon's lawyers pushed back against those allegations.
"The truth is that Nick tried to save Bobbi Kristina's life. The truth is that Nick cooperated with law enforcement since day one," Baez and Habachy said. "The truth is that no one loved Bobbi Kristina more than Nick and no one has suffered more as a result of her death then [sic] Nick."

Baez and Habachy slammed the Fulton County District Attorney's Office for keeping the criminal investigation into Brown's death open even though "there is simply no evidence of any wrongdoing."
"They have in essence helped feed the slanderous media frenzy regarding Nick Gordon," the statement said.
