The nephew of Ariel Castro has been charged with 22 counts related to child pornography, prosecutors said Thursday.
Castro was the Cleveland man who kidnapped and raped three women over a decade then pleaded guilty to almost 100 felony counts before hanging himself in prison last year.
Jeremi J. Alicea, 26, of Bedford, Ohio, is accused of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor as well as one count of possessing a criminal tool, NBC station WKYC in Cleveland reported, citing court records.
The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s office confirmed the court records with NBC News.
The "criminal tool" was identified as a laptop computer.
Alicea, who turns 27 on Friday, will be arraigned on Feb. 13.
Alicea’s alleged crimes occurred on Sept. 17, 2013 and Oct. 8, 2013, according to prosecutors.
His case was investigated by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, according to the station.
