The man who drove a truck through the front door of a Baltimore-area TV station Tuesday and barricaded himself inside the building is in custody, according to Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz.
The truck burst through the front doors of WMAR-TV, the local ABC station, in Towson around noon, NBC affiliate WBAL reported.
Once the entire truck was inside the building, the driver exited the vehicle. The driver then barricaded himself inside.
ABC2 reporter Brian Kuebler wrote on Twitter that the man had tried to get into the building while screaming, "Let me in," and said he was God. The man then got into a landscaping truck and rammed the building several times, Kuebler wrote.
Baltimore County Police treated the situation as if the driver was armed, WBAL reported.
Police shut down neighboring roads and a nearby school was placed on lockdown as a precaution, according to officials.
Ashton Manor Environmental, the truck's owner, said that it had just recently been stolen from a nearby job site.
"We are thankful that none of our employees were injured when the vehicle was stolen," said company president Jeff Schwartz. "We are cooperating with the police and the ongoing investigation."
