John Tittle, the pastor at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, led a prayer early in the service as he said the congregation continued to stand with the Guthrie family.
“We are seeking to just honor the family’s privacy and their desires,” Tittle said. “It was communicated to me, ‘pray.’ We’re going to keep praying through this horrific ordeal.”
Deputies assigned to provide security at Guthrie home
Deputies have been assigned to provide security at the Tucson-area home of Nancy Guthrie, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said.
Deputies were assigned to "maintain a presence" at Guthrie's home in the Catalina Foothills at the request of the Guthrie family, the sheriff's department said in a statement yesterday.

“TODAY” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie addressed her mother’s possible kidnapper in a new Instagram video yesterday, saying the family would “pay” for the 84-year-old woman’s safe return.
“We received your message and we understand,” Savannah Guthrie said, seated alongside her brother, Camron, and sister, Annie. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace.”
“This is very valuable to us, and we will pay,” Savannah Guthrie said in closing, holding her siblings’ hands.
Guthrie’s video did not provide specifics about the message she referenced.
