LOS ANGELES — A man was detained outside the home of “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston on Monday after a vehicle crashed into the front gate, two law enforcement sources told NBC News.
The driver, 48-year-old Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, was booked on suspicion of felony vandalism in connection to the crash that happened at about 12:20 p.m. in the Bel-Air neighborhood of L.A., the sources said.
Aniston was home at the time but was not hurt, the sources said.
More details about what occurred and whether it was criminal were not immediately available.
Police scanner audio, captured by Broadcastify, said the suspect "drove the vehicle through the front gate."
A security guard had the white middle-aged male "proned out in the driveway" at gunpoint, an unidentified police officer says in the audio.
LAPD did not confirm the audio is from the incident outside Aniston’s house.
It wasn’t immediately clear Tuesday morning if Carwyle had hired or been assigned an attorney.
