An Indiana man is accused of stalking, harassment, intimidation and sending threatening and explicit messages to WNBA star Sophie Cunningham via social media, officials said.
Kevin Singh, 48, was arrested Tuesday and charged Wednesday, Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced.
“The internet has made it easier than ever to target, harass and intimidate others. Threats of violence, whether face-to-face or behind a keyboard, will be taken seriously,” Mears said in a statement. “Coming forward is never easy, regardless of a person’s position or public profile. The victim is setting an example by speaking out.”
Singh began harassing Cunningham, a guard for the Indiana Fever, last year, Mears said. His behavior escalated in February after a security team reached out to him about his conduct, Mears said.
Singh is on probation in Hendricks County in a previous case following guilty pleas to two counts of invasion of privacy, both Level 6 felonies. Five additional felony charges — including a lead stalking charge and a habitual offender sentencing enhancement — were dismissed.
It is the second time a man has been charged with stalking Fever players, officials said. In July 2025, Michael Lewis pleaded guilty to stalking and harassment and was sentenced to more than two years in prison.
Cunningham, 29, a former University of Missouri player, recently signed a one-year contract extension with the Fever — a deal she described as frustrating given its short duration. She is widely regarded as the team’s enforcer for her physical playing style and willingness to confront opposing players.
She was drafted by the Phoenix Mercury in 2019 and traded to the Fever in 2025.
Cunningham has also become a polarizing figure off the court. Some fans have speculated about her political leanings, dubbing her “MAGA Barbie.” In a New York Times interview last year, she pushed back against that characterization, describing herself as more centrist.
“In our culture today you have to choose and you have to be an extremist, and that’s just not me,” Cunningham said. “So I agree with things on both sides; I disagree with things on both sides.”
Cunningham was thrust into the spotlight again this year for reasons beyond basketball. She co-hosts a podcast called “Show Me Something” with West Wilson, a cast member on the Bravo reality series “Summer House,” who became embroiled in controversy in March after he revealed he was in a relationship with co-star Amanda Batula — the estranged wife of another cast member and best friend of his former romantic partner.
In April, Wilson told Cunningham on the podcast that there was “no overlap” between his relationship with Batula and her marriage.
“Summer House” airs on Bravo, which is owned by NBC News’ parent company.
