A month to the day since University of Virginia student Hannah Graham went missing, her parents released a statement appealing to anyone who knows where their daughter is to come forward and "end this nightmare for all."
"It is heart-breaking for us that the person or persons who know where Hannah is have not come forward with that information," John and Sue Graham wrote in a statement that they released Monday. Graham, 18, went missing in the early hours of Sept. 13 after leaving an off-campus party. She was last seen on surveillance video and by witnesses with Jesse Leroy Matthew, 32, who was charged with abduction with the intent to defile in connection with the case.
Graham's parents on Monday begged for anyone who knew where the sophomore is to share the information "to end this nightmare for all, and to relieve the searchers of their arduous task." Teams have searched 95 percent of an eight-mile radius around the downtown area from where police believe Graham disappeared, according to NBC affiliate WVIR. But blanket searches of large pieces of land will become more focused to concentrated areas based on tips and the investigation, according to search coordinator Mark Eggeman with the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.
