A disturbance broke out late Wednesday at the same Nashville juvenile detention center where more than 30 teens escaped earlier this week. Tennessee Department of Children's Services officials said 10 teens were able to kick out the doors of their dorm rooms and get outside of the building. They then allegedly started throwing sticks and rocks at guards, according to NBC News affiliate WSMV.
Officials told WSMV that approximately 17 teens got outside the dorm but none was able to get outside of the facility's gates. The disturbance went on for two hours before deputies with the Tennessee Highway Patrol went inside the facility in full riot gear.
Thirty-two teens escaped from the detention center Monday night through a weak spot in a perimeter fence. Six of them remain at large.
