Tallahassee authorities have released a 911 call from the neighbor who found Florida State University law professor Daniel Markel mortally wounded in his car earlier this month. The man told a dispatcher that he walked over to the victim's open garage to find a disturbing scene. "The driver's side window is bashed in and he's got blood all over his head and he's not responding to me," the caller said. "He's still alive...You need to hurry." The neighbor said Markel, 41, was moving his head but could not tell him what happened. "I don't know if someone tried to shoot him or he shot himself," he said.

Police have not identified a motive or a suspect in the July 18 shooting. They released a photo of a car that was seen in the area but may not be related, and they asked the public to come forward with information about Markel's movements on the days before and after the murder.
