Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is accused in a civil lawsuit of physically assaulting a woman numerous times over the course of 19 months, with the plaintiff adding that she was pregnant during many of the alleged assaults.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in Dallas County District Court, alleges that Rice grabbed, choked, strangled, pushed, scratched, hit and headbutted Dacoda Jones over several months from December 2023 to July 2025.

It also alleges that Rice threw objects at Jones, would destroy property, and lock her out in the middle of the night. The suit did not specify what Rice's relationship was to Jones but says that the pair lived together.

The suit says that the alleged incidents caused “severe and permanent injuries.”

"Following an escalation in violent behavior, in December 2023, defendant Rashee Rice strangled plaintiff Dacoda Jones at their shared home in Victory Park, Texas," the suit states.

A representative for Rice did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday.

Jones is seeking over $1 million in damages.

Last year, Rice was suspended for six games after he pleaded guilty to felony charges related to a March 2024 crash on a Dallas highway. Prosecutors said the NFL star was driving a Lamborghini Urus SUV at 119 mph and hit other vehicles. After the crash, he fled on foot.

As part of a plea agreement, Rice received a sentence of five years of deferred probation and 30 days in jail as a condition of his probation. He was also required to pay the victims for their out-of-pocket medical expenses.
