Two brothers were shot and killed while working at their dad's convenience store on Monday, officials said.
A gunman opened fire at Khasem Yousef, 23, and 17-year-old brother Faares Yousef just before 3 p.m. ET in Palmetto, Florida, NBC affiliate WFLA reported.
Investigators later identified Devin Chandler, 25, as a suspect in the case. He remained on the run early Tuesday.
“The individual went into the store, and the two employees that were killed were at the front counter, and he walked up and ... shot them in the head," Palmetto Police Chief Scott Tyler told the station.
Authorities say the victims were discovered by a customer who walked in shortly after the crime. The violent encounter was captured on surveillance video.
Warrants issued for Chandler’s arrest charge him with two counts of homicide and one count of armed robbery. Police say he is thought to be “armed and dangerous” and may be driving a blue Chevrolet Impala.
Omar Sulveiman, a cousin of the Yousef brothers, told WFLA he hopes whoever committed the crime is punished.
“I just wish [the killer] gets killed or he goes to prison for life or something,” he added.
