Beyoncé's childhood home in Houston erupted in flames on Christmas morning.

The family who now lives in the home escaped safely, with no injuries reported, the Houston Fire Department said in a statement.

The brick house on Rosedale Street has become a landmark. When it was on the market in 2018, the realtor told "Good Morning America" that the Knowles family bought the home in 1982 and lived there until Beyoncé was about 5 years old.

On Monday, the Houston Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at the home at about 2 a.m. local time.

By the time firefighters arrived, the second story of the house was already engulfed in flames, according to the fire department, and the family living there had evacuated.

The fire was put out by 2:48 a.m., the fire department said. The cause is under investigation.
