Nearly a month after a young girl's body was discovered in a trash bag in Boston Harbor, the authorities have launched a new effort to identify her — dozens of billboards spread out across the state that feature a computer generated image and a haunting message: “Did you know me?”

In a statement Monday, the Massachusetts State Police said that 84 billboards will be displayed in 50 locations.

The girl, who has been named "Baby Doe" by authorities, is believed to have been about 4 years old, with brown eyes, brown hair and weighed approximately 30 pounds. An autopsy was completed but no specific cause of death was determined.

Massachusetts State Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office are working with MassDOT to expand outreach to the public through digital billboards seeking assistance identifying the unknown toddler whose body was found on Deer Island last month.

When her body was found on June 25 by a woman walking her dog, the girl was wearing a pair of white leggings with black polka dots, and she had a zebra-print fleece blanket that “investigators believe may have been special to her,” the statement says.

Though the search for her identity became a social media phenomenon, none of the hundreds of "local, national, and international" tips the authorities have sorted through produced have an identification, the statement says.
