Six construction workers who had been trapped under wreckage after a scaffolding collapse in downtown Houston on Friday, a fire department spokesman said.

The Houston Fire Department said the six construction workers were rushed to nearby hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

NBC affiliate KPRC reported that four of the six workers were trapped in the collapse and were freed by first responders.

The collapse happened around 11:10 a.m. local time Friday at a seven-story apartment complex under construction. The building is near Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration will investigate the accident, the fire department said.
