A friend of Kevin Ward Jr. lashed out at reporters at the late dirt-track racer's funeral Thursday, saying the media wouldn't care about his buddy had he not been run over and killed by NASCAR star Tony Stewart.

"It's just because of a big celebrity all you guys are here," Ray Falk told a group of reporters. "The only thing I got to say about this whole deal, all these cameras — if it wasn't Tony Stewart, only about three of these cameras would be here. And that's what really bothers me," Falk said.

Ward, 20, was killed Saturday night at a track where Stewart was racing a day before the Spring Cup event. Many mourners at the funeral Thursday wore black, white and orange — Ward's racing colors.
