The northern lights, or aurora borealis, put on a remarkable show over some parts of Maine last night for some lucky viewers. These pictures came from Sugarloaf Mountain where a dazzling green aurora filled the sky. The celestial phenomena, which occurs when solar particles collide, was visible much further south than usual last night.
