Gabrielle Union visited the Today Show Monday to talk about the new season of her hit TV show “Being Mary Jane”.
Union, who plays a successful news anchor who is trying to get her life back together after a devastating car accident in last season’s finale, said her character is still a “hot mess” this season.
Union also chatted with Hoda Kotb about her marriage to Dwayne Wade, calling their relationship “hot and delicious” and jokingly crediting her youthful look to her oily skin that acts as “embalming fluid”.
On a more serious note, she addressed the struggles of popular media portraying a woman’s career as the root of all problems in her life. “If you happen to have issues with fertility and you happen to have a career, all is not lost. There’s so much hope and so many options."
“Being Mary Jane” premieres on BET at 9 p.m. on October 20th.
