Two young Latinas will be key voices in Disney's upcoming animated series featuring a Latina princess.

Singer, songwriter, guitarist, and Latin Grammy Award winner Gaby Moreno has been chosen to sing the new theme song for Elena of Avalor, set to debut on July 22, 2016 on Disney Junior. The show's producer, Craig Gerber, tweeted out the news.

Moreno, who is from Guatemala City won her first Latin Grammy Award in 2013 for best new artist. Moreno, who sings in both English and in Spanish will use her diverse style of blues, jazz, soul and R&B to not only sing the theme song, but and will also voice a guest role.

Elena of Avalor is about a princess who becomes queen and swears to protect her kingdom. Her character will be voiced by Dominican-born actress Aimee Carrero. Carrero, 26, starred in the ABC show, “Young & Hungry”, and will also sing on the official soundtrack for the series.

Princess Elena is "a confident and compassionate teenager in an enchanted fairy tale kingdom inspired by diverse Latin cultures and folklore," Disney said in a statement. The new series will reflect the life of Disney's very first Latina princess, Elena Castillo Flores, who was introduced on Sofia, which was Disney's first little girl princess series.

According to Billboard, Hector Elizondo, Danny Trejo and Lou Diamond Phillips will be among the Latino actors with recurring roles in the new series.
